Now The Word Has Come….
1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV
“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”
It’s another new year and the previous night, you probably went to Church for the Crossover service where your Pastor made declarations and Prophecies on what you would experience in the new year and you must have shouted a very loud 'amen’.
Your Pastor would also announce the theme of 2024 which would be followed by sales of stickers carrying the theme.
However, just like the parable of the sower in Matthew 13: 18–22, you received the word but either you didn’t understand, or it didn’t take root, or the cares of Life will choke it up, and the year becomes like every other year where you got prophecies but none manifested.
In 1 kings 18: 41–46, Elijah had given a prophecy that rain will finally fall in the drought-ravaged Israel but he didn’t just go back to relax. The scripture narrates that he went to the top of the mountain, bowed his head and prayed. After he prayed, he sent his servant to check the cloud and even after getting a negative response, he still sent his servant back seven times until a positive response was given.
This new year, we must cast aside nonchalance and spiritual irresponsibility and collaborate with God until the manifestation of his word is made a reality in our life.
As you go about your daily activities, you must make it a duty to give ear to what the Holy Spirit is saying about the prophecies given to you.
And when you hear, you must also put in action instructions given to you immediately.
When Elijah gave Ahab the instruction to go up and eat as there was a 'sound of abundance of rain’, Ahab didn’t hesitate in doing so even tho in the previous verses, Elijah had killed his prophets of baal.
Even when the second instruction to go back to his palace because of the rain that was about to fall, he still obeyed.
Most of the times, the answers we seek from God often come as instructions but due to logic and doubts, we tend to ignore and stubbornly take our own paths. It’s no complex reason why we don’t get the result we seek.
God answers prayers and brings his prophecies to reality but he won’t do this outside the cooperation of the reciever.
You must be a willing participant for the word to manifest and become a reality in your life.
Remember that Jesus despite the fact that he could perform miracles couldn’t do anything in Nazareth due to their unbelief.
Refuse to take the word for granted this new year, take heed of the instructions that comes from the place of the spirit and take action as instructed.
Paul speaking in Hebrews 4:2 KJV revealed why the Gospel doesn’t profit some people.
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. “
Even Jesus speaking in John 8:31-32 KJV explained that the only way to gain freedom through the word was to continue in it.
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
In this new year, I pray that the spirit empowers you with strength and patience to continue in the word and that as you do so, it is made profitable in your life.
